Bottles of Taittinger champagne

Taittinger, Official Champagne of FIFA!
Champagne Taittinger is proud to announce that it has been chosen as the Official Champagne of FIFA. The contract, which runs until the end of 2015, includes the 2014 FIFA World CupTM and the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, both held in Brazil.
For the first time, a Champagne House has been selected by FIFA to serve as Official Champagne in FIFA’s VIP and VVIP areas for the two biggest events on its calendar.

For Champagne as a whole, this agreement is recognition of its universal vocation, in line with FIFA’s mission to develop soccer throughout the world.
For Champagne Taittinger, the great eponymous and independent family House, this collaboration is an immense honor and a source of intense emotion. An honor owed as much to its worldwide reputation – Champagne Taittinger is present in 150 countries around the world – as to the constant excellence of its cuvées. The emotion of a family whose history was closely linked to the greatest hours of soccer in Reims, and which has never ceased to forge partnerships with various European clubs.

Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, Chairman of the House, recalls one of the most vivid memories of this Reims epic, the origin of the expression “champagne soccer”, when the television ban was exceptionally lifted on June 6, 1959. That evening, live from Stuttgart, before his very eyes, his father, Jean Taittinger, just elected Mayor of Reims, kicked off the European Club Cup final between Real Madrid and Stade de Reims.
Even if he lost, this final left him with the imprint of sparkling soccer, to which he associates the values of Champagne – celebration, excellence, joy, humanity – values also embodied in this prestigious agreement with FIFA, built up step by step by his son, Clovis Taittinger, the House’s Export Director.
Present alongside FIFA for the Confederations Cup in Brazil, Champagne Taittinger will in the coming months give concrete expression to its presence at the FIFA World Cup 2014TM through a number of initiatives, relayed by its 150 or so distributors around the world, right up to the apotheosis of the final in
the mythical Maracanã stadium on July 13, 2014.
That evening, for the coronation of the World Champions, under the auspices of FIFA and Champagne Taittinger, “soccer, king of the ball and Champagne, king of the bubble” made common cause.
