Director Diane Kurys, producer of the Françoise Sagan biopic “Sagan”, presented her latest film “Pour une femme”. Set in France in the ’80s, after her mother’s death, Anne discovers photos and letters that cast doubt on her family’s past – a family she knows nothing about, because everyone has always kept quiet. She decides to make this the subject of her next novel, and discovers the existence of a mysteriously hidden uncle, whom her parents took in in 1947. Anne comes to understand that her mother truly knew only one love, the dazzling, gut-wrenching kind. Post-war France and France in the 80s mingle and juxtapose to form a single story.
In cinemas across France from Wednesday, this dramatic comedy features an impressive cast including Benoit Magimel, Mélanie Thierry, Nicolas Duvauchelle, Sylvie Testud, Julie Ferrier, Denis Podalydès, Clotilde Hesme and Clémence Sibony.
