Once a year, the cosmopolitan cities of Sydney, Frankfurt and Kobe are invaded by amateur and professional runners realizing their dreams or seeking new challenges. This summer, Onitsuka Tiger pays tribute to the passion, commitment and confidence of marathon runners by adapting 3 lifestyle models inspired by the sport. The ULT-RACER, TIGER CORSAIR and MEXICO 66 are dressed in the colors of the famous Sydney, Frankfurt and Kobe marathons sponsored by ASICS. Each model is customized with the map of its marathon on the insole and the name of the city stamped on the heel.

The ULT-RACER
A modern inspiration of the ULTIMATE-81, the ULT-RACER takes its electric orange/white color and touch of blue from the Sydney Marathon. This new adaptation of a classic Onitsuka Tiger sneaker offers a trendy vision of Sydney.

The TIGER CORSAIR
This classic lends its name to this Marathon edition. Inspired by the shoes released during the jogging boom of the 70s, the TIGER CORSAIR remains a staple of Onitsuka Tiger’s Running collection. This version has a revised silhouette, while retaining the key elements that have made the CORSAIR a success in sport and fashion alike. Its Black and Fire Red colors are inspired by the Frankfurt Marathon.

The MEXICO 66
From Kobe City Hall to the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, this reinterpretation of the Onitsuka Tiger shoe is inspired by the blue/green colors of the Kobe Marathon. It was on this model, created in 1966, that the famous Onitsuka Tiger stripes and “cross” on the back of the heel were first used. This new version is in smooth leather with a green quilted collar.
