The long-awaited press conference took place this morning, and we finally know the official selection for the 66th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, to be held from May 16 to 26. Of the 1858 films screened, the organizers have selected 19. This year’s Cannes Film Festival will be honoring India’s 100th anniversary of Indian cinema, and we already know that Audrey Tautou will be acting as Master of Ceremonies alongside the 66th Festival’s President, Steven Spielberg.

The Coen brothers and Steven Soderbergh, as well as six Frenchmen, including François Ozon and Roman Polanski, are among the 19 filmmakers – including only one woman, Valéria Bruni-Tedeschi – vying for the Palme d’Or. On the glittering side, Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Robert Redford, Matt Damon, Ryan Gosling, Benicio del Toro, Michael Douglas and Bérénice Bejo have been announced for the ascent of the steps. However, we’ll have to wait until next week to find out the composition of the jury, as rumors are swirling that Nicole Kidman’s name will be on it.
