Vans x Metallica
Vans presents a capsule shoe collection created in partnership with the band Metallica. Each member of the band was in charge of the artistic direction, resulting in 4 pairs of Vans x Metallica collectors that take up the bandʼADN.
Each of these shoes will be presented with a mini-film, so stay tuned to vans.com/metallica to discover these exclusive videos in which Kirk, James, Robert and Lars give us their inspirations, accompanied by your favorite Vans riders.
The Vans x Metallica Signature Shoes
James Hetfield – James has taken Vans’ flagship Sk8-Hi model and added his own personal touch, thanks to renowned illustrator
Hetfield. The result is a Vans Sk8-Hi Deconstruct that will not go unnoticed by collectors.
Lars Ulrich – Lars has revisited the EraLaceless model with a motif found on his drums. Another detail is the Dirty Donny character embroidered on the back of the sole.
Kirk Hammett – Kirk chose to customize the Slip-On model, and in keeping with his ecological approach, this shoe is made of hemp. The inner heel features the pick of his Ouija guitar.
Robert Trujillo – Robert grew up in Venice Beach, back in the day skateboarding and wearing Vans. He chose to customize the Escuela model with an Aztec calendar designed by his wife Chloé.
In March, Vans and Metallica will also present “Killʼ Em All”, a Slip-On and a Sk8-Hi that feature the artwork from Metallica’s first album.
