Alibellus+ menswear AW 2013

Now it’s official, Alibellus+ has just signed up as a member of the Chambre Syndicale. This year, Titi Kwan the Hong Kong designer, offers us some rather Japanese looks, and figures largely inspired by the Burtonesque character, Edward Scissorhands.

Impractical clogs, quilting, leather straps, fur, dark silhouettes whose volumes give the appearance of a strange and singular man, whose allure captivates and catches the eye, a very particular and original sphere specific to Alibellus+. A neo-punk edge, in particular, conferred by the models’ excessive use of leather and crests.

Leather, belted perfecto, punk-gothic inspirations, with black and mauve as the primary hues. Known for creating seamless pieces and drawing inspiration from the Couture of yesteryear, the Alibellus adventure was made possible thanks to the financial backing of a Chinese group. This deal allowed Titi Kwan to re-emerge on the fashion scene, and his spectacular concept of almost seamless garments, born of a lifelong passion for folding and origami, remains his trademark.

Likewise, the thirty or so models in this collection reflect the recurring sources of inspiration for the man who says he “loves to take his head off creating to counteract a real concentration problem”: architecture, geometry, physics and anatomy.

A resolutely rock collection that augurs well for the brand’s future.
