Songzio the Korean designer didn’t leave us unmoved again this year. Since 2007, Songzio has been dazzling us with his men’s collections in Paris. It’s worth noting that his avant-garde style blends precise structures with darker prints and colors.

Lacquered leather, long coats, the classic shirt revisited with its famous stand-up collar, the designer’s trademark, tailored suits in innovative materials. With this new collection, Songzio presents us with the figure of a modern hero, who achieves his goals thanks to his ambition and his will to reach his dream. In a way, he is indirectly portraying himself. He achieves this through his unstoppable technique, his marked avant-gardism, and architectural structures. According to him, men’s fashion is free of the differences between Eastern and Western culture, no longer needing to be confined to any particular ethic. His precision is surely the most striking thing about his collections.

Gold accents on leather suits, this collection enhances the designer’s identity as well as his inspirations, in this case the controversial novel Sanctuary by William FaulknerThe themes of rape, oppression and coercion are illustrated by the use of close-fitting suits, zips and zippers. The neck is also hidden by shirt collars and ties, a symbol of suffocation, synonymous with suffocation.

The models, sporting flamboyant red hair, stand out from the designer’s very neutral universe. Indeed, the colors he uses are limited to black, brown and gray, creating a hostile atmosphere in which a fierce struggle must be waged to reach the top and be accepted in society. The Songzio man is dressed in elegance, a presence disguised in these neutral colors to avoid any misunderstanding. All in all, a sophisticated look, but there were some “alien” pieces throughout the show, such as short coats with oversized shoulders.

A highly inspired collection that hints at the designer’s strong personality and increasingly assertive style.
