Givenchy Menswear Fall/Winter 2013/2014

Givenchy, one of France’s leading fashion houses (which chose not to hold a haute couture show in January), or rather its artistic director, Riccardo Tisci, sees the men’s autumn/winter season in monochrome hues.

Indeed, this season at Givenchy, there’s no room for color, so it’s elsewhere that the designer’s technicality lies.
The down jacket is reinterpreted at Givenchy and worn kitsch-style (i.e. tied at the waist, like in the 90s). Stripes and stars are present, as they were last season, and silhouettes, when not wrapped up in the famous down jackets, are rather close to the body.

The Givenchy man is a kind of fashionista au masculin (fashionisto?) and rides the rock-chic wave. Of course, laces are a must (leather bangs would have been too much!), and the silkscreen prints on T-shirts and shirts give a look halfway between rebellious teenager and businessman that’s not without its appeal.
