“Du poil de la Bête” by designer Cécile Rembauville-Nicolle.

For this new season, Cécile Rembauville-Nicolle interprets a Love Story
A collection made up of three lines that have in common the stubborn repetition of an identical form, the strange dance that two materials engage in to meet. Vermeille is always present, combined with either black copper, bamboo or black porcellaria. On this conceptual base, the three lines “Rencontre”, “Union” and “Dénouement” materialize and tell, each in their own way, the story of an impossible love affair.

The new Du Poil de la Bête collection has been created in collaboration with the prestigious National Taiwan Craft and Development Research Institute, which aims to promote traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship, whose extreme finesse is often overlooked, by inviting designers to use their ancestral techniques to develop new forms and uses. Each element of the vermeil, porcelain and bamboo jewelry resulting from this collaboration is handcrafted by An-Chia, a Taiwanese master craftswoman and designer, then assembled in our Parisian workshops.
The three lines that make up this collection are the fruit of a reflection on the meeting of two different materials that are a priori incompatible, and the use of a unique ornamental element with a refined design, envisaged beyond its aesthetics as being structural. The intertwining of the assemblies and the systematic repetition of the single element produce the baroque, dreamlike, rock-like forms characteristic of the spirit of Du Poil de la Bête.
