The transporter, the series

Adapted from the $250 million “The Transporter” trilogy, this 12-episode series uses the ingredients of Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen’s worldwide success.

Each episode of “The Transporter” will offer adventures worthy of the cinema on television: breathtaking sequences and humorous dialogue. The universe and characters, inspired by the films, have been enriched for television.
So you take the time to get attached to the characters and live each story to the full.

Action, comedy and seduction: all the ingredients for the success of Luc Besson’s films! The series is in a league of its own, with an impressive budget and, above all, the same stunt teams as in the film.

We had the privilege of previewing the series in the presence of the film’s cast and crew, and we loved it! Chris Vance almost makes us forget Jason Statham by adding a human side, and the series format allows us to discover the characters in greater detail. Action is also omnipresent.

One transporter, one package, three rules
Frank Martin is the Transporter
He’ll transport anything, anywhere, on anyone’s behalf. This ex-Special Forces agent is over-trained in driving, combat and survival techniques. Determined and honest, he always completes his missions.

Rules to follow:
#1 – Never Change the Deal
#2 – No Names
#3 – Never Open the Package

Whatever happens, Frank always follows the rules. But nothing ever goes according to plan…

Frank Martin
Ex-member of the elite SAS unit, Frank rents out his “transporter” services, no questions asked, to anyone who will pay. His strict code of conduct, precision driving and fighting skills enable him to outlast the most dangerous criminals on every mission. Very secretive, Frank trusts only a few people: his agent Carla, his mechanic Dieter and a police inspector, Tarconi. But his circle of acquaintances expands with the arrival of Juliette, a mysterious and sexy woman who takes a keen interest in his activities… Whether it’s delivering a parcel,
or dining with a beautiful woman (as he often does), Frank is always on time, in his impeccable suit…

Chris Vance, alias Franck Martin in the series, is an Anglo-Australian actor. He starred as Sean Everleigh in the hit Australian series “All Saints”.
He also appeared in the series “Burn Notice”, “Prison Break”
and “Dexter”. In 2011, he was chosen to succeed Jason Statham
in the TV adaptation of “The Transporter” films.

Interview Chris Vance
How did you take on the role of Frank Martin, previously played by Jason Statham?
I love what Jason has done for the film franchise, he was impressive. From my
side, I included a few of his gestures as a tribute to his work, but above all I
tried to make the character my own. I had to be as
believable as possible in this role to satisfy the viewers.

How did you go about working on the action scenes? Do the choreographed fights require a lot of preparation?
As a child, I did a lot of sports: soccer, skiing, canoeing and climbing, but never
combat sports. I discovered this with Cyril Raffaelli and Mohammed Elachi, the
two best fight stunt managers on the market. I’m very proud
to have worked with them and honored by the time they gave me to rehearse all
these choreographies. They’re incredible!

Between Delphine Chanéac, François Berléand, Michel Julienne and Cyril Raffaelli, you were surrounded by French people. Did they teach you our language?
Yes, I’ve learned a few words so that I can get around outside the set and be
polite. Speaking of which, what does “for fuck’s sake” mean again? I think I learned it from
François. He’d be upset if he knew I’d already forgotten his lessons!

You filmed in Paris and Cap Roux. Did you already know France?
I’ve been to France many times before and I love your country! Paris is
really my favorite city to shoot in. And I’ll tell you a secret: my girlfriend
is French! “No names”, that’s the rule, I can’t break it!

Frank has rules, but he’s always breaking them. Are you limitless too?
Unfortunately not, because I’m well aware of my limits, and that’s why
playing a character who has none is so much fun!

A crack production team
To maintain the spirit of the films, the production team decided to hire the same team that gave “the touch” to the feature films: Michel Julienne for car stunts, Cyril Raffaelli and Mohammed El Achi for action scene choreography. Brad Turner, director of “Transporteur, la série”, has worked on numerous productions such as “24”, “Hawaï 5-0” and “Homeland”, while showrunner Timothy J. Lea has worked on the series “Lie To Me”, “The Riches” and “Flashforward”.
