You know when a designer has reached the pinnacle of fame when you mention his or her name, and a key piece from his or her collections springs to mind. At Vanessa Bruno, everyone knows the famous tote bag. But Vanessa Bruno is also a delicate interpretation of femininity with a bohemian attitude.
The strongest pieces are those from the Spring Summer 2013 show. Adapted to the rhythm of everyday life, the garments are structured around vintage, prints, muslin and knitwear.
We remember a knitted sweater embroidered with handmade ears of wheat, a recurring motif for Vanessa Bruno, like an obsession.
The modular leather tote, a new classic that has been produced by the designer for the past 3 seasons, is a bag in tune with the times, and the emphasis is once again on its versatility: inside its Liberty interior is a detachable pouch.
Laser-perforated leather also made inroads at Vanessa Bruno, featuring the “ears of wheat” motif.
The basics are revisited, with tote bags in acidulous or spicy hues, in canvas or suede.
