Official timekeeper and watch partner of the RAID classic car rallies, Oris presents the Oris RAID 2012 chronograph, a limited edition to celebrate the 22nd RAID Suisse-Paris. Its design highlights the superb features of the 1942 Cadillac Series 62, the car that won the race in 2011.
The RAID Suisse-Paris, first held in 1991, involves classic cars built before 1975. They take part in a regularity race – picturesque to say the least – of 965 kilometers, starting in Basel and finishing in Paris. The rally pits teams against each other, who must use all their wits to follow the right route and stick to strict deadlines between two stages. However, the main test is that imposed on vintage vehicles and their ability to withstand the demands of a unique race.
To honor the dashboard of the 1942 Cadillac Series 62, the Oris RAID 2012 Limited Edition Chronograph features the emblematic typography of the Cadillac series. The classic chronograph functions are complemented by an additional 24-hour second time zone indicator.
Presented in a luxurious classic wooden box and limited to just 500 pieces, this exclusive model is the quintessence of classic design.
