FENDI launches the Baguette Pop Up Store online

FENDI continues to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Baguette by launching for the first time an e-commerce showcase entirely dedicated to the Baguette universe. The online Pop Up Store will be available at www.fendi.com in early October 2012, and will be present in the main European, American and Japanese markets.
Baguette fans will also find the new collection and its re-editions online, as well as unique and iconic vintage pieces and the Needle Point Baguette with its embroidery kit, enabling them to create their own Baguette bag. Other items will also be available exclusively on fendi.com: t-shirts and scarves featuring sketches by Karl Lagerfeld in celebration of the bag, the Baguette book and a selection of accessories inspired by this iconic bag.
To mark the opening of the online Pop up Store, Silvia Venturini Fendi has created “Geometrica”, a Baguette bag in blue and white striped canvas, with the emblematic red and gold enamel buckle, leather details with three-dimensional effects, lined in red satin and fitted with the Baguettemania pocket mirror. This limited edition of 100 pieces will be available exclusively online at fendi.com.
The new online boutique crowns the year 2012, dedicated to celebrating the Baguette, which began in June 2012 with the publication of the book ‘Baguette’ edited by Rizzoli. The Baguette bag then travelled the world with a series of events in leading Fendi boutiques and with “Baguettemania” pop-ups in the most prestigious concept stores such as Colette in Paris, Maxfield in Los Angeles, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Dover Street Market in London and Tokyo.
In addition, FENDI will present “THE ART OF EMBROIDERY” on baguette.fendi.com, a video created to mark the launch of the new online boutique in collaboration with Maurizio Anzeri, a London-based Italian artist who uses black-and-white portraits from the 40s and 50s as the basis for his colorful, geometric embroideries. The video-portrait of Silvia Venturini Fendi and the Needle Point Baguette merge into a single, unique piece of art. An artistic project that highlights the Baguette bag’s limitless customization possibilities, and a tribute to its creator Silvia Venturini Fendi.
