Paris revives the delicate, elegant charm of burlesque effeuillage in a tribute to femmes fatales.
A tribute to femininity
On October 30, L’Étage will be the setting for a veritable ode to femininity. For its 3rd
edition of Beauties of Burlesque, Garter & Garter has chosen to revisit the archetypal
femme fatale, who has marked myths and cultures down the centuries. Sometimes seductive,
sometimes fearsome; Hollywood icons, spies, heroines; these 8
exceptional strippers will inoculate you with a powerful charm from which it’s hard to recover
.
A lesson in seduction
True to its multi-disciplinary spirit, retro and neo effeuillage will be presented. This 3rd edition features classic burlesque figures. On hand this evening will be Nancy-based stripper Lily Deslys, the French benchmark of glamour, as the queen of film noir.
Mata Hari, the femme fatale par excellence, will come to life again as Cherry Candy, the mysterious
. Australian Vivi Valentine, a leading figure in burlesque effeuillage,
will take you on a journey through a world of glitter and diamonds.
Between vintage and modern, Louiza Ventura pays tribute to contemporary heroines, as does opening act Griffela Ploom Ploom. Mimi Clumsy takes a gentle, poetic approach to the quest for femininity in her number inspired by The Pink Soldier. Britain’s Starla Haze hijacks the famous sailor pin-up with elegance and humor. And finally, in
a rockier version, Mrs Rose, a true nymph, will be torn between aspirations and realities in a very Teeth-esque number.
Cocktail & Speakeasy
Comedian Elena Brocolitch will be dispensing her soon-to-be-legendary Good Advice, and could well be the queen of the evening. To immerse us in the delights of stripping, restaurant-lounge l’Étage goes one step further to recreate the atmosphere of New York speakeasies. Here’s an innovation: take part in the creation of a cocktail especially for the occasion, to be enjoyed under dimmed lights! A real time-travel invention!
