One of the most eagerly awaited shows this season was that of Maison Rabih Kayrouzthe Lebanese stylist and couturier. Known for sublimating women’s curves with his enchanting evening gown creations, he has already worked in the ateliers of the Maisons Dior and Chanel. It was therefore with great pleasure that Luxsure visited the Grand Palais on a sunny Sunday to discover its spring-summer 2013 collection.
Barefoot, right on the fine sand, the models parade in their light veils and elegant capelines. And as if to establish an oxymoron in the face of all this softness and apparent calm, the models all wear gold-colored cuffs on both wrists, like handcuffs. Their waists, meanwhile, are marked by beautiful metallic belts. Prisoners in a world where the sound of beached waves and the laments of a Janis Joplin singing of summer in her hoarse, lascivious voice.
Many asymmetrical dresses, silk crepe, discreetly glittering fabrics, finely worked details like this jacket with blousé finishing, a very luminous collection where white dominates, with touches of yellow, orange, champagne and ochre. The precious silk lightly reflects the gold jewels worn on the models’ wrists. This new collection is both soft and strong.
