INTERCONTINENTAL or AN INUSUAL SPA

The Intercontinental Paris Le Grand has a treasure trove, hidden from the general public and reserved for insiders: its Spa. Yet it deserves to be known and visited. Management has decided to open the place up a little more to Parisians, and give them the benefit of real know-how.

This proves to be a real opportunity, because with a view to offering its customers top-of-the-range services, the 4-star has established a partnership with the Algotherm brand, a subsidiary of the Batteur group. A pharmaceutical and cosmetics giant, Batteur’s aim is to optimize body well-being and aesthetics.

Founded in 1962, Algotherm has always been at the forefront of marine cosmetics.

The company’s research laboratory is constantly striving to discover new, high-performance active ingredients. To do this, they select various categories of algae that are best suited to their objectives. Playing on the synergy that can exist between them and the human body, they succeed in creating formulas that best deliver active ingredients directly to the cells.

What’s more, Algotherm has always been attentive to the needs and comfort of each and every one of its customers, and was quick to develop paraben- and phenoxyethanol-free textures.

Aware of the stress imposed on the individual, the brand has developed a specific treatment, Le soin marin détoxifiant. It’s surprising, truly surprising. Lasting 75 minutes, it is divided into 4 stages, each more unusual than the last. First, the esthetician engages in marine relaxation. Gradually, she massages the client with a warm, moist towel to bring her into a state of relaxation. She then applies a gentle effleurage of marine oil. Using a series of circular movements, she releases muscular and other tensions. The treatment is a real change of scenery.

Relaxed, the body is ready to receive all the active ingredients it needs to detoxify.

Phase 2, Exfoliation, begins the detoxification process. For around 20 minutes, the body is coated with an exfoliating complex including exfoliating salts and oil.

Kneaded, the skin begins to release its toxins.

The 3rd phase, Modelage, is an experience in itself. From this moment on, the treatment takes on a whole new dimension. This is where Algotherm’s keen eye for the unprecedented comes into its own. For around 25 minutes, after the application of an activating serum, the body is shaped using … venthouses. Used since Antiquity for their detoxifying properties, venthouses are ideally suited to this treatment. Interested in their virtues, the Batteur group has been incorporating them into various treatments for around a year now. Here, they provide an optimal, regenerating and fun massage! Modelling is specific. It can be for Well-being or for the Silhouette.

The final phase, the Body Wrap, is even more intriguing than the previous one. It consists of coating the entire body with a Peel-off mask.

Often reserved for the face, this technique takes on a whole new meaning here. The presence of Laminaria Digitata seaweed is a real asset, even more perceptible here than in other treatment moments. Its amino acids, alginate and mannitol content instantly rehydrate the epidermis. Boosted by the active plant ingredients added to the marine complex, the body experiences a real sensation of relaxation. It feels invigorated.

This detoxifying treatment is a must-try. More than just a treatment, it’s a precious moment. Thanks to it, back-to-school stress evaporates,
Note that this treatment is available for both men and women.
