From October 3 to November 30, 2012, to celebrate its 150th anniversary, Paris’ legendary Café de la Paix is offering a seafood platter for 150 euros.

Until the end of 2012, the InterContinental Paris Le Grand is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a series of unusual gourmet events. From October 3 to November 30, the festivities will take place at the Café de la Paix, where the famous seafood platters will be prepared according to the latest arrivals.
Priced at 150 euros for 2 people, the “Plateau Prestige” is a nod to history as you discover or
re-discover the iodized flavors of the unmissable Banc de l’Ecailler.
A Café de la Paix classic, the famous seafood platters are prized for their freshness and generosity: Perle Blanche oysters, Gillardeau oysters, Isigny Taillepied specials, sea almonds, lobster or sea urchins; the Café de la Paix shellfish bench will satisfy the cravings of shellfish lovers.
At the helm, 32-year-old Frédéric Andrès, Christophe Raoux’s Sous-Chef, brilliantly handles this meticulous selection, as he cultivates a passion for shellfish having lived by the sea in Marseille for 12 years. A student at the Ferrandi school, he began an apprenticeship at Goumard Prunier in Paris (2* Michelin in 1996), where he learned the references for fish and oysters, and was in charge of the
lobster racks and exceptional products sourced directly from the ports of Octavy, Quiberon and Pont l’Abbé. After working at Fauchon and then Ladurée, in 2000 he helped reopen the Maison du Danemark on the Champs Elysées, where he specialized in cooking herring, wild salmon and cod, making regular trips to Denmark. He then joined the Résidence de la Pinède (2* Michelin) before delighting customers at the Café de la Paix.
