Agnès b. spring/summer 2013 collection

The Agnès B fashion show took place at the Maison des Métallos. On a humorous note, the designer delivered a light, well-crafted Spring/Summer 2013 collection in tune with the times. An unconventional staging, models taking on the role of actors for a few moments, and a surprising playlist. What stood out from the good-natured atmosphere were the well-crafted cuts and the quality of the clothing, which lent a certain seriousness to these characters. Indeed, the woman who dressed Uma Turman for Quentin Tarantino’s Quentin Tarantino presents us with basic pieces that always charm: pairs of suede shoes, clip-on pants, woollens, very streamlined suits, cotton vests, mustard yellow and stripes. Sure values. This season’s favorite is the pretty navy-blue perfection in blue cotton milano. A collection that exudes summer and freshness, but is nonetheless chic and distinguished, without forgetting the hint of originality with the summer print we’re seeing a lot on the catwalks this year (palm trees, as at Bill Tornade) and finally the little Laura des villes Laura des champs bow tie, a very young jewelry brand with the particularity of being made of vitrified paper, worn by a model as a brooch on his suit jacket.

The happy medium. That’s the expression that comes to mind when discovering this new collection. The designer has perfected classic cuts by giving them just the right amount of edginess and daring. The Agnès B man, an offbeat dandy, idealist, thinker and outsider, reminiscent of “Restless” by by Gus Van Sant from which the designer admits she drew her inspiration. In short, a collection that seems light, fluid and convenient, but not without being thoughtful and accomplished.
