1970, the year of youth, pop and the birth of Kenzo’s “Jungle Jap”.
An Asian sensibility breathed new energy into Parisian fashion. The luxuriance of untamed nature invaded wardrobes, becoming, over the years, an identifying primer for the House.
We have revisited these founding origins, moving the center of this wild world to the heart of today’s cities. Living between Paris and New York, we opted for a highly urbanized masculine comfort, combined with the magic of the jungles of Southeast Asia, where we recently visited
The Man of Summer 2013 will therefore cohabit peacefully with all manner of tigers, leopards and other crocodiles, printed, embroidered or decaled on his garments.
We have prioritized comfort and functionality for a perfect match with the rhythm of city life. Opting for loose, flowing silhouettes, we married oversized tank tops and sophisticated shirts with wide-leg pants and long, knee-length shorts.
The fabrics, natural like cotton and technical like nylon, are ultra-light, breathable and ideal for hot climates and urban comfort. Freely inspired by the jungle-safari spirit, shirts, T-shirts and trench coats are modular or reversible, adapting to any circumstance or desire. A series of details optimize the great classics of the men’s wardrobe. Jackets and suits are fitted with drawstrings to personalize or adjust a silhouette.
Tiger and panther prints are combined with clever weaving to create a new camouflage, characteristic of the House. The depth of turquoise and emerald tones is warmed by a fruity yellow. Precious pearl embroidery lends a touch of offbeat sophistication to the casualness of polo shirts and T-shirts.
Accessories further extend this “urban-wilderness” metaphor, offering chic, comfortable sandals suitable for “macadam-trekking”, sunglasses with crocodile-print frames, and water bottles to quench the thirst of explorers.
