What is a beautiful book? A beautiful object, pleasant to leaf through. Beautiful images, printed with care.
What is an excellent book? A beautiful book with interesting, even enriching content.
A definition that fits perfectly with La planète mode de Jean Paul Gaultier, de la rue aux étoiles, a sublime 424-page book featuring 500 photographs (from Helmut Newton to Richard Avedon), archive images and, above all, 50 interviews, each more fascinating than the last.
Thierry-Maxime Loriot, curator of the exhibition retracing Jean Paul Gaultier’s career, met an impressive number of A-listers from the worlds of fashion, cinema and music: Tom Ford, Martin Margiela, Pierre Cardin, Inès de la Fressange, Catherine Deneuve, Boy George, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Mylène Farmer, Antoine de Caunes…
An opportunity to learn more about their relationship with fashion’s enfant terrible and his creations, as well as the world of fashion in general.
