GIRARD-PERREGAUX VINTAGE 1945 TOURBILLON UNDER THREE GOLD BRIDGES HAUTE HORLOGERIE,

Fascinating. Could it be the famous Golden Bridges that captivate the eye? The kinetics of the tourbillon mechanism that oscillates endlessly? Or the materials that impose their strength and hue in a clever play of chiaroscuro? Cut from rose gold, the case and bridges form a striking contrast with the color of the platinum. Its matte anthracite treatment is the result of a special combination of materials close to platinum, and uses cutting-edge technology. Other components, such as the barrel, lower gear bridge and bridge supports, adopt this finish. The visual effect is astonishing.
A new interpretation of a movement with its origins in the late 19th century, this Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges creates a link between eras. Benefiting from the latest technological advances, it concentrates rare technical and watchmaking expertise in its delicately curved Art Deco-inspired case.
The hand-satinned skeleton bridges, with their pure, contemporary geometry, are the fruit of an extremely delicate design: first finely hollowed out, they are then carefully polished by hand. It takes seven days to achieve a perfect finish, with the many closed angles alone posing a major challenge. The tourbillon device is also the object of particular attention, its 72 components having to be meticulously assembled in a diameter of just 12 millimeters. To these feats is added the precious matte anthracite treatment that gives this timepiece its distinctive identity.
The self-winding movement, caliber GP9600, features a micro-rotor integrated under the barrel, patented by Girard- Perregaux. The architecture of the mechanism, also visible through the sapphire caseback, is further enhanced by the matte anthracite-treated components. A formidable demonstration of the Manufacture’s expertise. Or how aesthetics and technique manage to reinvent themselves and renew the rules of the art of watchmaking. A rarity limited to 50 pieces.
