1992-2012: 20 years after its rebirth, the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo is still a big hit with the public, the media and competitors alike.

Over the years, this reminiscence of the Tour de France Automobile has appealed to the greatest number of people, thanks to a new itinerary every year, alternating charming roads and prestigious circuits.

More than 220 vintage vehicles, all having taken part in one of the original editions between 1951 and 1973, crossed France from north to south.

It all began in Grand Paris on April 16, where the cars were displayed to a passionate public, and ended in Nice on April 21.

On its route, this 21st edition made successive stops in Beaune, Aix-les-Bains, Clermont-Ferrand and Nîmes. These were all towns where enthusiastic spectators were able to enter the closed park to get a closer look at these exceptional cars. Among them, the legendary and sublime Ferrari 250 GTO, queen of the Tour, celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.

Champion crews and dream cars in which Luxsure took part for one stage: Clermont Ferrand – Nimes.

No circuit racing, but four special stages on closed roads on this penultimate day. Between two classification events, participants had the opportunity to discover the Ferme de Bourlatier. This seigniorial building, located in a remote area of the Ardèche, with its authentic framework and 16th-century stonework, was the setting for a traditional lunch.

Competitors then set off on two more special stages. The Tour then stopped near the Nîmes Arena, on the Esplanade, before contesting the final stage of the 2012 edition.
