ARTD, the new architecture retail total design magazine on iPad

Abu Dhabi, Lens, Portugal, USA, Asia… Today, the world lives to the rhythm of Architecture and Design, whether it’s for the construction of a luxury brand flagship, a hospital, a traveling museum, or the design of objects that transform everyday life.

Pierre Buisseret, creator of the editorial concept, editor-in-chief and artistic director, and Bernard Mignon, publication director, have created a magazine that sets out to discover these places, these objects, and meet the men and women who design them. And to allow the images to express themselves fully, the digital medium was an obvious choice: ARTD was born under the auspices of the Digital Fairy.

Its bilingual title, like the ́ensemble of the publication, is an acronym that clearly announces the content: A for Architecture, R for Retail, TD for Total Design. And if the word ART appears subliminally, it’s not by chance, it’s to better highlight the works we’re passionate about and the women and men who, whatever their profession, are their masters of ́œuvre. “The choice of digital support is not a gadget, far from it,” explains editor-in-chief Pierre Buisseret. Thanks to the backlighting, the images are sublimated… The experience is magical, and the reader is plunged directly into the architectural universe we’re introducing him or her to.”

Immobile travel, but not only… adds Bernard Mignon, the publication’s director. The iPad makes it possible to use the magazine on the move. The digital medium also makes it possible to integrate videos, interviews and sound, all of which add dynamism and richness to the magazine. What we offer is not a static medium, but a living magazine that’s constantly evolving…”.

In search of information, a team of trend-setters and specialized journalists trained to track down the latest trends in design, projects and new achievements in commercial architecture. ARTD is a bimonthly magazine, available online and on I-Pad, which makes a point of amplifying the visibility of the different facets of the profession through interviews, portraits and encounters.

On the news side, ARTD will be following projects and openings from European flagships to new shopping center concepts in the Emirates, as well as pop-ups and corners, layout, merchandising, roll-out and maintenance of retail networks around the world. The latest creations from designers, not to mention new products from manufacturers and retailers of construction, decoration and furniture products…

ARTD will also focus on the projects and achievements of architects, interior architects, garden architects, designers, decorators, fitters and all other specialist trades. There will also be spotlights on brands in all sectors, from private and public developers of commercial and tertiary real estate, to local authorities and public spaces.
Finally, ARTD’s editorial line will be resolutely forward-looking, with an active commitment to schools of architecture and design, and building trades in general.
