Paco Rabanne FW 2012-2013

Paco Rabanne by Manish Arora was one of the highlights of fashion week. A sparkling collection respectful of the house’s founding values: a transposition of Paco Rabanne’s universe into today’s world. Controlled audacity, exuberant elegance, architecture and assembly.
The image of Françoise Hardy in the early 70s permeates this collection. An unsettling beauty, an uninhibited, unclichéd femininity. The Paco Rabanne 2012 silhouette is clean, sharp. Its graphic contours are fluid and in perpetual motion. Kimono sleeves and jackets shaped like supple armor are strong signatures of the season. The house’s past is brought up to date, revisited, reworked, and sometimes left untouched, like this metallic mini-dress designed in 1969 and worn by Brigitte Bardot in a famous David Bailey photograph, which is reissued in its original version.
For colors: gold, silver respond to whites, ashes and blacks.
