Stéphane Rolland
For his tenth couture collection, Stéphane Rolland chose the Galerie des Moulages at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine to show his models. And what an excellent initiative, since geometry still permeates his creations, and the dresses with their graphic silhouettes are inspired by the works of designer Michel Deverne. Bank, black and red pigment the dresses with their geometric shoulders. Collars are worked in pleats, the waist is marked by a gilded metal belt, and the structured style of the cuts is counterbalanced by a bare leg or shoulder. Leather gloves and mittens complete the look. Pencil sheaths and strapless dresses with metallic detailing follow one another, with gold metal pieces adding relief to the clean cuts. Two steamy anise-green silhouettes complete the collection. Yasmin Le Bon, the designer’s muse, closes the show in a sumptuous flamboyant red wedding gown that required 45m of jersey and weighed almost 50kg.
