Kaws Connection collaborates with Hennessy
Although at first glance, a collaboration between the artist and Hennessy may seem unlikely, it soon becomes apparent that their creative approach is similar, characterized first and foremost by a distinctive signature.
Kaws is a New York artist-designer and former phenomenon of the graffiti scene, who from the outset chose a four-letter signature based on a graphic combination close to his heart. From then on, his approach to art reflected that of advertising. For Hennessy’s signature, his style has made him the most famous of all cognac names for over two centuries, so the connection between artist and brand takes on its full meaning.
Kaws, visiting the various stages and processes of Hennessy’s know-how, discovered a rich inspiration for his special edition Hennessy VS bottle, featuring his high-energy graphics, saturated colors and double X signature. The VS bottle by Kaws will be launched as a limited edition for Colette, the store having already welcomed the artist for his first solo exhibition in 1999. Both bottles, the numbered limited edition Hennessy VS by Kaws and an exclusive set of 213 numbered special edition Colette bottles, in tribute to the boutique’s address at 213, rue Saint-honoré, will be on sale in the boutique.
