Since 2003, UNICEF France has been the driving force behind an extraordinary synergy between the exclusive world of fashion, art and humanitarian commitment, with one ultimate goal: to collect as many donations as possible to help the children of Darfur. Each year, a unique encounter between prestigious designers and jewelers, emblematic artists and renowned personalities, results in a major event marked by creativity and solidarity: Frimousses de Créateurs.
For the past 9 years, artists and designers have been mobilizing their talent for UNICEF, sublimating dolls that become true ambassadors for the respect of children’s rights, and more particularly the right to health and medical services in the Darfur region. Alongside them, our partners, honorary committee and volunteers generously contribute to the organization and highlighting of this event.
Every year, Frimousses de Créateurs focuses on a theme, and this year it’s Nature that’s in the spotlight. Sophisticated or natural, gentle or wild, each doll will reveal its personality at the exhibition at the Petit Palais from November 28 to December 4, 2011.
The auction of the dolls will then take place on December 13 at Drouot Montaigne, orchestrated by Maître Georges Delettrez, Chairman of Drouot Holding, and Maître Pierre Cornette de Saint-Cyr.
The success of Frimousses de Créateurs 2010 raised a record 286,500 E, all of which was donated to UNICEF to fund its vaccination programs in Darfur. The mobilization of designers and donors from UNICEF France and partners in the field aims to vaccinate 301,150 children under the age of 1 against measles, and to extend vaccination coverage to children in the three Darfur states, with a view to reducing infant mortality and morbidity rates. UNICEF and all those involved in the Frimousses de Créateurs hope to set a new record for the 2011 edition, with the aim of reinforcing and extending actions in the field.
Hundreds of thousands of children have been saved so far, but the mobilization must continue to intensify, thanks to the involvement of a hundred designers and artists, celebrities such as Delphine Arnault, President of the Honorary Committee, and godmother Laeticia Hallyday.
