Louis Vuitton announces the creation of a partnership to support young fashion talent with Istituto Marangoni in Milan, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in Italy and internationally, with which it shares the values of education and the transmission of know-how.

The project embodies the spirit of Louis Vuitton and its long tradition of supporting creativity and craftsmanship. Louis Vuitton participates in various cultural initiatives and programs helping young artists around the world, including the three-year partnership with the San Carlo Opera in Naples, the Louis Vuitton Young Artist Project in London in collaboration with five cultural institutions or the Louis Vuitton Arts Excellence Programme with the Singapore School of Fine Arts. The aim of these programs is to nurture young talent in the world of art, fashion and culture by forging strong links with the world’s leading schools and institutions.

Thanks to the partnership with Istituto Marangoni, Louis Vuitton will be able to pay tribute to the city of Milan with a project that will give young talents from low-income backgrounds access to unique encounters, experiences and training programs at the very heart of the fashion world.

“We are delighted to associate our name with such a renowned fashion school as Istituto Marangoni in this noble project,” says Yves Carcelle, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton. “The transmission of know-how and creativity is one of the cornerstones of Louis Vuitton. We are committed to supporting young people and providing for their education around the world, and we hope, with this partnership, to contribute to the creation of a bright future for future generations”.

This three-year educational project includes the awarding of merit-based scholarships to students from low-income classes, the organization of “Fashion Talks” between Louis Vuitton designers and Istituto Marangoni students, and the opportunity for the latter to visit two of Louis Vuitton’s cult workshops: the historic Asnières workshop, founded in 1859 on the outskirts of Paris, which produces leather trunks and bags, and the Fiesso d’Artico cobbler’s workshop, near Venice.

As Roberto Riccio, Managing Director of Istituto Marangoni, points out: “Since 1935, Istituto Marangoni’s mission has been to train the future talents of the fashion world. Louis Vuitton’s participation in this partnership honors us and offers our students the unique opportunity to observe at close quarters the dynamics of a major international luxury brand. The pursuit of quality and an ongoing commitment to innovation are values shared by Istituto Marangoni and Louis Vuitton, and we have decided to lay the foundations for our 3-year collaboration to support young talent”.
