JEM: a breath of fresh air for French jewellers

A few days ago, we met Erwan Le Louer, the young boss of JEM (Jewellery Ethically Minded), to present his new jewelry collection in partnership with India Mahdavi.
JEM is a truly atypical brand that really deserves a tip of the hat. Indeed, it manufactures jewelry from “ethical mines”, i.e. those that respect the environment and, above all, the people who work there. A salutary initiative! And Erwan Le Louer talks about his adventure with great conviction, making us feel that he’s a committed player in tomorrow’s world.

India Mahdavi’s nomadic culture and her love of contrasting scales and materials have led her to design a collection of jewelry in gold. For JEM, she adapts her architectural language to an exclusive jewelry collection. “For Voids, I borrowed the raw, graphic material of perforated sheeting from the building to propose an architecture on the scale of the body, inscribed in a relationship of full and empty.
Several wefts, using the same motif in different densities, have been imagined for the entire collection. Each element stands on its own, but it’s in its accumulation that Voids finds its vibrancy, simple and modern at the same time.
