The RussianTeaRoom gallery has opened its new space at 42 rue Volta in the 3rd arrondissement.
Until October 29, 2011, it presents the exhibition “FRACTAL”, bringing together the work of two photographic artists, Shunsuke Ohno and Dmitry Sokolenko.
A place to redefine 21st-century photography
Founded in September 2007 by Liza Fetissova, the RussianTeaRoom gallery aims to unite content with an indissociable
container. It proposes a redefinition of the place of photography in the 21st century, which is finally emancipating
itself from the model of painting, but is still searching, confronted by the tension of progress.
While following the Russian artists it has been accompanying since its installation, RussianTeaRoom wishes to offer
visibility to photography from countries undergoing change – Central Europe, Africa, Latin America – still
unknown.
This project takes shape at the heart of a warm and welcoming space, a place for sharing, meeting and exchanging
between academic and artistic spheres, through partnerships between institutions, universities, foundations and
curators.
