The 6th edition of the Trophées des Arts Afro-Caribéens paid tribute to Aimé Césaire.
In the magnificent Théâtre du Châtelet, it was an opportunity to reward the Afro-Caribbean artists who have made their mark over the past year.
The guest of honor for this year’s event, Danny Glover, honored us with his presence and was presented with the Medaille de Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by our Minister of Culture.

But the highlight of the evening was certainly the presentation of an honorary award to Danny Glover:

In terms of awards, Haiti was honored:
– Best Artist of the Year: Dominik Coco

– Best Group: Bamboulaz

-Best album and video: Soprano

-Revelation 2011: Colonel Reyel

– Best Fiction: Les amours d’un zombi
-Best Documentary: Ithemba
-Best Novel: Corps mêlés by Marvin Victor
-Best Essay: Haïti, une traversée littéraire

A wonderful evening which will be broadcast tonight on France Ô at 8:35 pm and on September 25 on France2 at 00:20 am.
