Fashion Week is often the ideal time for a fashion house to make a splash. Zegna therefore took advantage of the presence of the international press in Paris to announce the launch of a new online sales site and inaugurate its Flagship on rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré with great fanfare.

On Wednesday June 22 at noon, a press conference was held in the prestigious setting of the Italian Embassy. The ambassador’s salons were open for the occasion, and the garden was sublime. At 1 p.m., the press conference began in the presence of Gildo Zegna, Milla Jovovich and James Lima.

The brand boss presented the online sales site, with Milla Jovovich as virtual guide. It’s an application for Iphones, iPads and computers.
James Lima, who took part in the film Avatar, is behind the creation of the online sales site and detailed his vision during the press conference: “I love the Internet and the world of possibilities associated with it. What an amazing universe. The Web, a new medium that uses a multitude of formats and whose history is far from fixed or whose evolution is predictable. The Internet is a world in motion that seems to know no boundaries. From this observation, I came to ask myself why a merchant site couldn’t convey a complete brand experience where selecting and buying would be as memorable as the welcome received in a boutique. In short, a three-dimensional virtual destination that’s easy to access and navigate.
Gildo Zegna and Milla Jovovich are loyal friends of APJNOW.org, and both support its initiatives worldwide. To celebrate the launch of the new “Zegna in_STORE”, Milla Jovovich and the Zegna family have decided on a joint donation of a percentage of profits on sales made from June 23 to December 31, 2011 on the Zegna in_STORE website.

The following day, Thursday June 23, Gildo Zegna inaugurated the new Parisian space at 50 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Thirty years after the opening of its first store in Paris, this new boutique underlines Zegna’s historic presence on the French market, as well as the Italian brand’s established presence in the world of men’s fashion. Zegna is a true Parisian reference in terms of quality and excellence.
50 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a luxurious 5-storey sales space of over 500m2, was invested by the famous architect Peter Marino at Zegna’s request, in order to best present all the collections of the Ermenegildo Zegna group. The classic Ermenegildo Zegna and Z Zegna lines, the made-to-measure offer and the Zegna Sport line, as well as fragrances and a wide range of accessories, will be available from June 22, 2011.
On the exterior façade, as well as on the modern elevators inside, metal bands recall the warps and wefts that transform raw materials into fabrics.
Numerous personalities attended the inauguration ceremony. Among them were Jean-Paul Belmondo, Alain Delon, Jean Todt, Antoine Arnault and François-Henri Pinault.




An after-party was then organized at the Palais de Chaillot in the presence of Jean Réno and Milla Jovovich. It was a wild evening.
In short, Zegna pulled out all the stops!
