In autumn 2011, the Antwerp Fashion Museum will present the first major retrospective of fashion designer WALTER VAN BEIRENDONCK.
Over the past three decades, Van Beirendonck has built up an impressive international career. Considered the outsider of Antwerp fashion, he is best known for his colorful collections, his spectacular runway shows in Paris in the 1990s under the W.&L.T. label, and for the socially critical messages he expresses in his designs. His work is the fruit of the most varied inspirations, combining technology, art, pop culture and ethnography.
It’s a great pleasure to see him again this year at Paris Fashion Week in anticipation of the event!
