Since its creation in 1960, the Admiral’s Cup has been Corum’s sports watch par excellence. A massive, virile timepiece, it has embodied the brand’s tribute to sailing and men of the sea for over half a century. In 2011, Corum unveils a new addition to this legendary collection, presenting two slender
and elegant models: the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 and Admiral’s Cup Legend 38.

Admiral's Cup Legend 38

For over 50 years, the Admiral’s Cup collection has forged its sporting legend on all oceans. Its dodecagonal bezel and nautical pennants have helped make all Admiral’s Cup models an iconic family. In 2011, this collection expands to caress the shores of classic elegance, with finesse and softness. In fact, the new classic versions of the Admiral’s Cup collection are distinguished first and foremost by their size: 38 mm for the ladies’ model, and 42 mm for the men’s model. Two sizes smaller than the sporty versions of the collection, a new design, but a single philosophy: that of a sober, classic, elegant watch, preserving the unique identity codes of the original Admiral’s Cup. In other words, these new elegant classics assert their sporting origins with finesse. They have been redesigned with more curved and rounded lugs, revealing softer angles. As for the case, it features a transparent sapphire back to reveal the
mechanism inside.

Mother-of-pearl and diamonds
Ladies’ honor, the Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber CO082, featuring an oscillating weight decorated with the Corum logo. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it has a 42-hour power reserve and offers hour, minute and date functions at 3 o’clock. Subtle, refined, shimmering dials. Crafted in mother-of-pearl from Pinctada Maxima – a pearl oyster whose natural habitat is the Pacific Ocean – the black or grey dials of these feminine variations are decorated with nine diamond-set hour-markers, rhodium-plated or gold-plated depending on the case material, and applied numerals 30 and 60 at 6 and 12 o’clock respectively. Available in steel or 18-carat red gold, in both cases with a bezel set with 72 full-cut diamonds for 0.58 carats, the Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 is enhanced by a satin strap featuring a folding clasp with safety pushers.

Classic elegance
The men’s model – the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 – beats to the rhythm of the CO395 caliber, a self-winding mechanical movement featuring hour, minute, small seconds and date functions with a window at 3 o’clock. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, it has a 42-hour power reserve and an oscillating weight engraved with the Corum name. The classic, watchmaking character of these timepieces is revealed by the dials, which are guilloché in a vertical pattern
for the steel and two-tone gold-steel models, or guilloché with barley grain for the 18-carat red gold models. The Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 is offered on a leather strap for the steel and two-tone versions, or an alligator strap for the gold version, in both cases fitted with a folding clasp. Steel and two-tone models are also available on a new matching metal bracelet developed exclusively for this Admiral’s Cup Legend 42.
