Exhibitions, fashion shows, competitions and many other activities will enliven the next edition of The Brandery.
The international urban and contemporary fashion trade show organized by the Fira de Barcelona returns from January 26 to 28, 2011, welcoming brands such as Phard, North Sail, New Zeland, Esprit, American Vintage, Berenice and Custo Barcelona. The latter
will present the new “Custo Growing” children’s collection.

The catwalk is one of the new features of The Brandery for this 4th edition, with daily catwalk shows of the autumn/winter 2011-2012 collections featuring various brands, collectively or individually. The backstage area of “The Brandery Podium” will be open to the public, allowing visitors to feel the effervescent atmosphere backstage.
The list of buyers participating in The Brandery includes high-profile department stores such as Galeries Lafayette, El Corte Inglès and Rinascente. Retailers such as Zas Two (Barcelona), 14 OZ (La Coruña) and Vía Moda (Principality of Andorra), among others, have confirmed their presence to attend the brand shows.

Spanish design in the spotlight
The show’s “The City” area, which hosts exhibitions and events and houses fashion and show-related activities, will present the “Shot’s in the City” exhibition at Paseo de Gracia from January 17 to 30: 50 fashion photographs by Antoni Bernad, Jaume De La Iguana, Sergi Pons and Manuel Outumuro will decorate the Barcelona avenue.
At the same time, from January 19 to 30 on the Rambla de Catalunya, there will be a “Fashion Tour Coca-Cola Light” exhibition featuring a reproduction of 8 Coca-Cola Light bottles over 2 metres high, customized by designers including Devota & Lomba, Francis Montesinos, Roberto Verino, Juan Duyos, David Delfín, Lydia Delgado, Miriam Ocariz and Amaya Arzuaga.
The City” is also home to more than 100 of Barcelona’s best boutiques, located in a wide area of the city between Paseo de Gracia and the Borne district. A window-shopping competition, “Windows on the move”, is also organized by The Brandery, in collaboration with the associations “Amics del Passeig de Gràcia”, “Cor Eixample” and “Associació Rambla de 26 au 28 janvier 2011

Fashion, creativity and business debated at “The Laundry”
Another important area of the show is “The Laundry”, a place dedicated to specialists, fashion professionals, philosophers, economists and experts from the most prestigious international and Barcelona business schools, to debate a variety of topics related to fashion, creativity and trends. Unmissable bloggers are also invited to this space for their 2nd
reconcontre internationale, while WGSN, a leading Internet fashion research company and fashion trend analyst, will be organizing trend conferences.

Fashion & Livingspace
The “Fashion & Living” space makes its debut at The Brandery, offering custom-made objects by international designers. The aim of this new space is to provide a unique platform for different expressions of creativity to co-exist beyond fashion. The sets for the “Fashion & Living” and “The Brandery Catwalk” spaces are created by Marino Casas, Director of Puresang, which specializes in retail interior design. He will also curate The Warehouse, a space dedicated to denim.

Chances for Changes
The slogan of this year’s show, “Chances for Changes”, suggests that the opportunities that arise from change on the one hand, and provoke change on the other, should be highlighted. The show is divided into 4 areas: The Fira, with brand displays; The Brandtown, with bars, restaurants and relaxation areas; The Laundry and The City. Exhibitors
are divided into 4 sectors: The Cathedral, for designers with their own label; The Loft, for brands with a distinct design/trend-setting component; The Warehouse, with denim products; and The Stadium, presenting sport & street, action, sport, street culture, sport style and performance fashion.
The musical partner of the 2011 edition is Advanced Music, producer of the Sónar Festival, in charge of music for the show and for events such as the welcome evening on January 26, which will be attended by over 1,000 people including exhibitors, visitors, retailers and emblematic figures from the fashion world.
As always, the show’s activities and competitions can be followed online via The Brandery website, as well as on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and Linkedin. One of the contests, entitled “Look Brandery”, is organized in collaboration with the “Chicisimo” website and will reward participants who create the most “Brandery” look possible using exhibitors’ clothing.
Another, entitled “Look Cool & Trend”, will reward those who post photos on The Brandery’s Facebook page of objects, clothing, supplies and even events that the panel of judges consider particularly trendy.

Luxsure will be on hand to cover the event for you!
