Femininity and refinement are the watchwords of Christophe Josse’s fall-winter couture. Beneath a false air of Visconti innocence, his inspiration for the season, the silhouettes he presented to us have volumes worked in the hand, brittle or caressing, of the chosen fabrics. Pleated gauze, embroidery or feathers, there’s no shortage of Belle Epoque touches.
But the woman he dresses is free, unencumbered by the constraints of linings and interlinings, a silhouette crafted with modernity in its details: light pagoda shoulders, masculine-feminine pantsuits or short cuts for long silhouettes.
