An exceptional 150th anniversary for Chopard in Cannes

Sometimes there are strong and intense love stories, stories that seem to be just a given. This is the case between the House of Chopard and the Cannes Festival. Creator of the Palme d’Or and also partner of the prestigious Film Festival, the Geneva-based jewelry house was duty bound to celebrate its 150th anniversary in the company of its most loyal companion. And what more beautiful setting than Cannes and its V.I.P. Room to organize an exceptional party!

A thousand hand-picked guests in their finest attire gathered on May 17, 2010 at the V.I.P. Room, a high spot of Cannes’ nightlife held by Jean-Roch and privatized for the occasion. Many stars came to attend this event.

Our stars had competed in elegance and glamour, all more beautiful than the others. The ambassador of the House, Eva Herzigova was of course present and had chosen a mini-dress Emilio Pucci from the Spring-Summer 2010 collection to pay tribute to the famous House. Our favorite French actress, Marion Cotillard, had chosen the French house Lefranc-Ferrant and wore a sublime strapless jumpsuit, entirely embroidered with metallic sequins, from the Fall Winter 2010-2011 collection. Emmanuelle Beart had highlighted her curves in a pink powdered dress Fendi collection Spring-Summer 2010. The English actress Naomi Watts had chosen a black Roland Mouret dress and an extremely smooth bob to honor her host. The Hilton family had made the trip in full with a Paris at the height of elegance in strapless dress draped blue.

Naomi Campbell dressed all in black was devilishly sexy in her black dress edged with lace Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci and on the arm of her Russian billionaire Vladimir Doronin. Kate Beckinsale, our favorite jury member, brilliantly continued her fashion marathon in a Temperley London dress and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. Princess Charlotte Casiraghi has definitely shown that she is a fashionista to be reckoned with in a black Gucci Spring-Summer 2010 dress. Her friends Margherita Missoni, Tatiana Santo Domingo and Francesca Versace, who were also present, could not say otherwise.

The princess Clotilde Courau also made sensation in her asymmetrical black mini dress while Frederique Bel remained faithful to Paule Ka for this evening on her ostrich feather pumps. We could also meet Nora Arnezeder, Dree Hemingway, Tori Praver, Eugenia Silva, the producer Harvey Weinstein, the first dancer Eleonora Abbagnato, Lindsay Lohan and the presenter of the evening, Myleene Klass. We could even see Benjamin Biolay!

After a dinner in the early evening, they were able to attend the exceptional private concert of the famous American singer Lionel Richie. For more than an hour, the singer covered his greatest hits, setting the tone with All Night Long, Say You Say Me and especially his biggest hit Hello, which he performed especially for Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, co-president of Chopard.

After the concert, the musical atmosphere was provided by the Brazilian model and DJ Jesus Luz – very elegant as Fatima Lopez – who made the audience dance until the end of the night. Believe me, the walls of the V.I.P. Room will remember it for a long time!
