On the occasion of the ready-to-wear fashion week fall winter 2010-2011 which takes place at this very moment in our beautiful capital, my job as a journalist aware of the latest trends obliges me, with a certain interest, to visit the backstage and the meanders of the red carpets and the private salons.
Guided tour in the alleys of Tranoi, which takes place for the occasion in the carrousel of the Louvre.
The tranoï is a good hundred exhibitors, who come from everywhere with their trunks loaded with various objects and their suitcases full of novelties. In the midst of Chinese, American, Italian and French exhibitors, the know-how of the fashion houses is displayed before our eyes. Fur, bags in precious crocodile embroidered with patterns to Lichtenstein, shoes with heels of 12 to the sole varnished with pink lacquer – it is Christian Louboutin who will not be happy, it is red – and covered with flowers in tulle crepe … In short, beautiful, pretty, fashionable, trendy with a fashion touch.
Journalists from all over the world are there, and you can hear them conversing in Chinese or US English as they walk down the aisles.
What we can say for the coming season is that women have taken their destiny into their own hands in this male-dominated society. The seductive muses of Louise Brooks to Marylin through Diane Kruger or Marion Cotillard are the beginning of the expression of an intensely graphic femininity, timeless and so chic …
