Unestablished & Rebel is a very high-end line of accessories for men, inspired by Napoleon but with a resolutely modern twist, which has just been launched in Paris. These gentlemen will be able to decorate their outfits with very sharp pieces, declined in noble and sometimes surprising materials. Ties, bow ties, wallets and handkerchiefs made of silk, snakeskin and leather rub shoulders with fine silver tie clips and cufflinks, sometimes even embellished with diamonds.
Although born from the imagination of a Japanese designer, the brand claims to be French. The designer, Junichi Hakamaki, who studied at the Parsons School in New York before going on to make his mark at Calvin Klein, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci and Donna Karan, is now based in Paris where he opened a studio in 2000. It is there that his pieces are designed, then made in Japan in small series, and by hand for the most part.
Junichi wants to focus on ties and cufflinks, believing that the luxury market does not place enough emphasis on these types of products. The ties in this very first collection, scheduled for summer 2010, feature clever combinations of materials with interesting visual effects, such as the delicate layering of tulle and silk. Pieces that deserve to be observed closely in order to appreciate every detail. But, be patient, we have to wait a few more months before seeing these little treasures pass through the doors of the most beautiful stores!
