In the magical setting of the Egyptian Embassy, the Egyptian designer Marie Bishara chose to revisit the glamour of the stars of Egyptian cinema from the 40s and 50s, through her ready-to-wear collection Fall-Winter 2010-2011.
This collection is sober and terribly classic as an actress who likes to be perfectly dressed whatever the circumstances. The silhouettes are fluid and sensual, alternating between daytime suits and evening dresses. Draped and pleated magnifying the step, embroidery, guipures, pearls and sequins compose the finery of these shining stars in the firmament of Egyptian cinema.
Marie Bishara uses the most noble materials to offer us this incursion into the world of these actresses of a cinema little known in the West: chiffon, satin and crepe hold the top of the pavement alongside more down-to-earth materials such as cashmere, wool crepe or tweed. White and black colors dominate this collection and highlight the traditional Egyptian talli, used in several silhouettes on skirts or dresses in embroidered tulle mode. Bib, sundress or asymmetrical dresses reveal the shoulders to emphasize a haughty head or a certain allure.
The long dresses flatter and caress the walk, the transparent blouses and other small sensual tops pullulate.
Only the presence of small fitted coats remind the season of this collection.
A woman at ease under the sunlights but always in the spirit of couture, such is the woman Marie Bishara.
