MANISH ARORA
AUTUMN WINTER 2010-11

March 10
LYCEE HENRI V, 1 RUE CLOTILDE, 75005 PARIS
The envelope and the invitation card set the tone: color! Cohue-bohu in the stairs collapsed by time and bodies « in standing » (St) on all sides. It is on some musical cracklings that the establishment often called « H4 » or still « HIV » enters literally in movement and, turns almost into discotheque-balls with facets, even in amusement park, so much this parade takes notes of joy and happiness.
These over-colored silhouettes speak to us of a time, new, very Art Deco (we remember the Roaring Twenties), where the past « carambola » with the future, to give rise to a firework display of color and brilliance. Indeed, the chromatic palette is not afraid of anything and is played in blue, gold, black, pink, red, green, purple … Among the materials used are silk (in crepe, satin, taffeta, and velvet) and organza.
Underneath the asymmetrical and exuberant headdresses/wigs, a line of dresses takes shape: the Indian designer hollows out the front in a (very deep) V-shape, structures the shoulders by accentuating them, but leaves the waist freer and the rest of the outfit more fluid. In addition, the knee length is widely surfaced and, comes to breathe a little modesty to these will-o’-the-wisp of light.
After that, you just want to do it again.
