Glamour was once again in the spotlight at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 7, 2010. On the occasion of the 82nd Academy Awards, the city of Angels welcomed the cream of Hollywood and international stars who competed in elegance. And what could be more natural than a shower of diamonds to keep those stars sparkling on the red carpet.
Continuing its love affair with the seventh art, Chopard Jewelry was present to accompany the stars for this exceptional moment.
Penelope Cruz, nominated for Best Actress for her supporting role in the film Nine, radiated in her wine-red Donna Karan sheath. The Spanish actress’ outfit was enhanced by a Chopard set consisting of 18-carat pear-cut diamond drop earrings, a 16-carat fancy diamond ring, a platinum bracelet with Ascher-cut diamonds, and a second 28-carat emerald-cut diamond bracelet.
Mo’Nique, who won an Oscar for her supporting role in Precious, was glowing in a pair of radiant-cut yellow diamond and emerald-cut diamond drop earrings (totaling 17 carats), which she wore with two yellow gold bracelets, one with princess-cut yellow diamonds (27 carats) and the other with radiant-cut yellow diamonds (46 carats).
Helen Mirren, nominated for Best Actress for her role in the film The Last Station, showcased her natural distinction by wearing an exquisite diamond choker (125 carats) on platinum, pear cut diamond drop earrings (9 carats) on platinum and a diamond bracelet.
Our dear Queen Latifah chose to wear diamond (8 carats), pink sapphire (10 carats) and pearl drop earrings with the white gold and diamond (4 carats) Pushkin bracelet to magnify her asymmetrical Bragdley Mischka dress whose shoulder was covered with diamonds and her Swarovski clutch.
Mariah Carey, who came to defend the film Precious in all sobriety, glittered in a pair of sublime diamond creoles of 43 carats on white gold.
Forest Whitaker wore the Elton John Chopard chronograph watch with over 6 carats of diamonds.
As for Giuliana Rancic, star presenter of the E! Entertainment, her two red carpet outfits were accompanied by pieces from Chopard Jewelry. She wore with her first dress 42 carat yellow and white diamond earrings on platinum matched with the exquisite yellow and white diamond ring on platinum and yellow gold. Her second outfit was the occasion to present us with an exceptional pair of diamond, sapphire and pearl earrings on 100 carat white gold worn with a diamond and oval brilliant cut sapphire ring.
Chopard Jewelry has once again accompanied the stars with brilliance. The Geneva-based company really belongs in the great family of the seventh art.
