On the occasion of the Year of Russia in France, the Prince of Wales Hotel, in collaboration with Stella Art International, honors Russian art by exhibiting the paintings of the Russian artist Galya Didur in the elegant and refined setting of the Jardin des Cygnes, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant.

The exhibition, to be discovered from April 20 to May 31, 2010, is an opportunity to admire the paintings of very contemporary style of the artist whose influences of Modigliani come alongside those of Picasso. Each painting takes a long time to make, Galya Didur works in successive layers of colors to create her own figurative style of deep colors and straight lines. She puts a lot of energy in her creations which become very luminous as if to exorcise the excess of energy that each canvas accumulates.

Galya Vorobovia Didur was born in Kharlov, Ukraine, where she studied at the Art School and later at the Art Academy of the city. She specializes in Monumental Decorative Painting. She has lived in Israel since 1994 where she works as a painter and interior designer. His work was exhibited from 2000 to 2008 at the Art-Expo gallery in New-York. Represented in France by Stella Art International, Galya was presented at the Salon Business’Art at the Espace Pierre Cardin in October 2009 where she obtained a quotation from the Drouot auctioneers. She will participate in the Business’Art exhibition from May 20 to 24, 2010 and will take part in the Louvre’s « Art Shopping » exhibition as well as the « Art en Capital » exhibition in November 2010.

Stella Art International is a non-profit association (law of 1901) founded in 1999 on the initiative of Stella Kalinina, passionate about art. Its aim is to promote artistic and cultural creation by organizing a large number of international events in the field of the arts: painting, music, fashion, literature, cinema, theater and dance. The association contributes enormously to the development of Franco-Russian friendship in the field of arts and culture. It promotes a dozen Russian artists from different countries in the high places of international art (New York, Florence, Moscow, Paris).

Galya Didur’s exhibition is also an opportunity to rediscover the Swan Garden of the Prince of Wales Hotel with its magnificent art deco patio: « We are pleased to partner with Stella Art International to help artists distribute their art in France. The Prince of Wales Hotel has a strong historical attachment to art and culture: the cultural celebrations of the Year of Russia in France are an ideal opportunity to share with our guests enriching experiences and to open up to new horizons« says Mr. Manuel de Vasconcelos, General Manager of the Prince of Wales Hotel.

Le jardin des Cygnes offers a refined and gastronomic French cuisine proposed by the chef Benoist Rambaud. To celebrate the year of Russia in France and discover the jewels of Soviet culinary art, a « Caprices de Tsar » card offers a fabulous duo Discovery Pleasure with tastings of Vodka Tsarskaya, champagne and caviar throughout the year at the Regency Bar.
