Contemporary art lovers, mark your calendars. For its third edition, Art Elysées realizes a most ambitious project: to gather the original works of the great tenors of Contemporary Art: Alechinsky, Matta, Hartung, Hundertwasser, Agam and Dewasne, on the Champs Elysées from October 22 to 26, 2009.
Entitled« L’Art en Soie« , the new exhibition presents 6 pieces made on silk. On the initiative of the journalist André Parinaud and the Lyon silk manufacturer Hilaire Colombet, this exhibition is the result of a risky gamble, that of bringing together one of the last great craftsmen of the Rhône region and some of the greatest names in contemporary artistic dynamics. The 6 works, executed in 1982 in the former Bucol workshop, now part of the Hermès heritage, are reproduced in 8 copies for the event, in large format, to allow visitors to admire these unique paintings with ease.
Young fair with a human dimension, Art Elysées is now a reference so much so that it lasts an extra day this year. And as usual, next to the flagship exhibition, other paintings, sculptures, curious objects…will mix to create the event.
In total, nearly 70 French and foreign galleries will be represented in the symbolic and renowned setting of the Champs Elysées: confirmed galleries, of course, but also some of the most promising young galleries.
Its vocation: to become a platform for exhibitions and sales dedicated to art professionals, collectors and enlightened amateurs. A goal that should not be so difficult to achieve given the success of the most anticipated contemporary art exhibition in Paris. To be seen.
