The end of the year celebrations under the sign of lights!
On the occasion of the end of the year celebrations, the unmissable Palace of the Basque Coast unveils a program full of festivities and delicacies, a unique photo exhibition as well as a high-class accommodation package!
On December 24 and 31, the Hôtel du Palais will be dressed in its finest finery to celebrate Christmas and the New Year in a magical setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The starred MOF Chef Jean-Marie Gautier will concoct two gastronomic menus that guests will be able to savor either in a Russian musical atmosphere during Christmas Eve or during the prestigious Jazz dance party on New Year’s Eve. Simply created for the transition to 2016, the « Sur son 31 » package invites you to escape for a 3-night stay in a double room, including buffet breakfast, New Year’s Eve dinner with food and wine pairings and access to the Imperial Spa to recover after a crazy night! And to start the 1st of the year with a bang, the Hôtel du Palais offers an Imperial Brunch with champagne!
Finally, from December 17, 2015 to February 14, 2016, the photographer Claude Nori, will exhibit in the heart of the Hotel du Palais his most beautiful photographs entitled « Lumières au Palais » paying tribute to the Biarritz palace.
Animated by the group « La Fa Ré Si Do », the Christmas Eve will take place in a Russian atmosphere with folkloric notes to the sound of violins and balalaika. On the menu, the flagship products of Christmas will be sublimated to offer exquisite flavors: Amuse-Bouche; Scallop Petals marinated with fresh Truffle and its crispy Pistachio Crown, Lamb’s lettuce leaves; Lobster Croustade with Porcini mushrooms and Pine Nuts and its Armagnac Smoke Emulsion with Roasted Chestnut Branches; Guinea Fowl Capon à l’Impériale and its Mousseline of Tuberous Chervil with Truffle; Gorgonzola with Pear and Marsala; Etoile Dorée with Oriental Flavors; Mignardises. To accompany the dishes, the Hotel du Palais offers a Chablis, Domaine Laroche vintage 2014, a Crozes Hermitage, Domaine Combier, vintage 2013 and Champagne Bollinger Spéciale Cuvée.
The New Year’s Eve dinner, included in the « On your 31st » package offered by the palace, promises to be a great gourmet treat: Amuse-Bouche; Imperial Duo of Crab and Caviar on a Potato and Romanesco Blanc-Manger; Sole Cushion « Empress Eugenie » and its Bouquet of Ocean Flavors; Scallops in a Black Truffle Emulsion Bouillon; Poularde de l’Empereur Napoléon III and its Souvenir d’une Floraison de Saveurs; Mont d’Or served with a spoon and its Winter Salad Leaves; Précieux de Gourmandise, Chocolats et Mignardises. The Hotel du Palais flirts with the city of Biarritz which celebrates this year the 10th anniversary of « Biarritz en Lumières », 16 nights of magic where Art becomes Light. The Basque Palace thus proposes from December 17, 2015 to February 14, 2016 an exhibition of photographs by Claude Nori, photographer, editor, writer and founder of the editions Contrejour. Taken between 1982 and 2015, these photographs highlight the Hôtel du Palais and are now listed in a 96-page book entitled « Lumières au Palais ». Both tell the story of the luminous, artistic and sentimental encounter between the famous Biarritz palace and the photographer Claude Nori, who was able to capture the subtleties of light acting as a revelation of the establishment to illuminate, underline, magnify or dramatize the seaside summers by the pool, the romantic nights under the chandeliers, the fireworks of August 15 or the winter storms…quite a program!
