The funeral of
Alexander McQueen
took place this Thursday (February 25, 2010) at St. Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, central London in the City of Westminster district. In addition to his family and friends, models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and stylist Stella McCartney paid their last respects to the designer, who was found dead on the morning of February 11 at his London home. This ceremony was marked by the presence of a young woman in a short black dress with a train and a lace veil covering her face. Several media outlets claimed that it was Lady GaGa, but the MTV website reveals that it is the London fashion icon, Daphne Guinness, heiress of the empire of the same name and a great friend of the deceased designer.

Alexander McQueen
According to several British media outlets, a public memorial service for Alexander McQueen is expected to take place this year, during which the family will be absent and fans will be able to say goodbye to their idol. This tribute will probably see the presence of Lady GaGa, currently on a world tour.

The ceremony was said to be very sober and beautiful. Bouquets of lilacs and white roses adorned the designer’s coffin for a sad farewell.
