Founded in Florida in 2013, Chromatique Lab had never shown on a runway. After a last release in 2024, the label has set the presentation of its spring-summer 2027 collection in Paris on 7 October 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justin Connor founded Chromatique Lab in 2013 while studying at a design school. Thirteen years later, the label he runs from Orlando, which sells directly on its website, has chosen Paris to show a collection on a runway for the first time. Sinner Sinner!<\/em>, spring-summer 2027, is presented at the H\u00f4tel Le Marois, with Flying Solo, and streamed online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years have passed between its last release and this show, without the conventional seasonal calendar. In the words the brand attributes to him, Connor became \u201cless interested in making pieces that simply looked like they belonged together, and more interested in why they belonged together\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title takes up the language of accusation and repeats it until it becomes ambiguous: the brand hears in it at once a judgement, a provocation and a joke. The collection works, it says, on the border between propriety and provocation, restraint and exposure, good taste and its deliberate defeat. It shifts familiar dress codes through proportion, materials and image. It does not say what a transgression is; it questions the criteria that make it possible to name one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The schedule announced around the show is clear: a room in Paris, a broadcast for everyone else, then the opening of pre-orders on the label’s website. Chromatique Lab also says it is seeking international distribution partners and concept retailers, whom it wants selected. For a label that sells directly, this changes the interlocutor: a Paris show also addresses resellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What remains is what the runway allows and a website does not. The label describes its language as recognisable forms rewritten: leather, aged surfaces, printed jersey, denim, sheer pieces and jerseys treated as a single wardrobe. It gives the rule in one sentence: the garment is not silent, the construction is. This is the criterion to which the stage subjects the whole. Inflated volumes, lengths cut short or stretched and a deliberate imbalance must hold up in motion, on a moving body. The label says casting, movement, sound and image are brought together with the clothes for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interest of the subject is established: an independent label thirteen years old, a first show, a direct model seeking resellers. The quality of the collection will be judged on the clothes themselves, in motion, and no recommendation can precede that judgement. The programme is written; it is verified in how a proportion holds on a walking body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
