Faithful to the Belle \u00c9poque elegance that has made its name for nearly a century, the Hermitage Monte-Carlo opens a new chapter in its history with a collection of entirely reimagined Diamond Suites. Twenty-two years after their creation, the \u201cAppartements de l’Hermitage\u201d have been redesigned by their original authors, Cabinet Pierre-Yves Rochon and the Bureau d’\u00c9tudes et de Design of Monte-Carlo Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Bains de Mer \u2014 a rare choice of continuity in palace hospitality, where renovations are more often entrusted to new signatures than to the historic creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the direction of Pierre-Yves Rochon and Karine Bouaziz, this reinterpretation of the codes of French luxury favours elegance over stylistic rupture, a wager that relies on the immediate recognition of an established identity rather than on the surprise of a radical overhaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gustave, a bar conceived for the Winter Garden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of the Winter Garden, beneath the emblematic Eiffel Dome that makes the establishment architecturally renowned, Gustave \u2014 imagined by designer Shirine Zirak \u2014 unfolds five distinct spaces, including a new terrace. The bar showcases the signature cocktails of head bartender Julien Lecharpentier, inspired by Art Nouveau and the great Parisian caf\u00e9s, an aesthetic reference that extends the hotel’s Belle \u00c9poque vocabulary into the glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naming the bar Gustave is no accident in a place crowned by a metal structure often associated, in the Monegasque collective imagination, with the legacy of Gustave Eiffel \u2014 a discreet way of setting the new space in dialogue with the architecture above it rather than ignoring it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
