Travel clothing has long been conceived as a compromise: supple enough for departure, presentable enough for arrival. The capsule imagined by One&Only and SEASE offers another reading. It treats movement as a succession of landscapes and gestures, from sailing to the mountains, from the outdoors to the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The men\u2019s collection comprises eleven pieces. It brings together notably the Jibset jacket, the Comfort short, the Fishtail shirts, the Ellen blazer and the V-8 vest in laminated linen. Through this precise vocabulary, SEASE extends its work on an Italian wardrobe in which natural materials and technical details are meant to coexist rather than oppose each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resortwear as a continuity of travel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The term resortwear often designates a destination silhouette, instantly recognisable and easily consumed. Here, the stated aim is more mobile. The capsule is designed to accompany passages: from sea to land, from a boat deck to an escape at altitude. It is not only a matter of setting, but of rhythm and use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One&Only thus places the garment within its hotel universe. SEASE, for its part, brings a culture of menswear forged by attention to materials. The pairing is of interest only if it avoids reducing travel to an image: the garment must be able to change context without dissolving into an undifferentiated leisure outfit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A meeting of two visions of luxury<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project grew out of the relationship between Philippe Zuber, chief executive of Kerzner International, and Franco Loro Piana, founder and chief executive of SEASE. The two houses put forward the same idea: luxury can lie in the duration of a journey, in the quality of a material and in the attention paid to the landscape as much as in the possession of an object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This intention remains a statement by its authors. It nonetheless sheds light on the choice of Tom Slingsby to front the campaign. The Australian sailor, Olympic champion and SailGP driver, gives the collection a sporting reference that does not seek to become a uniform: performance remains here an imaginary, not the promise of professional equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inhabiting the in-between<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The capsule poses a broader question to luxury houses: how to make travel a space for creation without turning it into mere decor? One&Only and SEASE answer with an in-between wardrobe, between protection and lightness, polish and ease.
