A jewellery crown is not always destined for a display case. The one worn by the silver Virgin of Notre-Dame de Paris belongs to the history of a place of worship, its images and their movements. Boucheron states that it made this piece between 1923 and 1929 and restored it in its workshops in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the house, the crown came through the cathedral fire of 15 April 2019. Its return to public view therefore brings together several timeframes: the original commission, the conservation work and the monument’s recent memory. The object does not only tell of its maker’s savoir-faire; it recalls that a piece’s value also lies in the care that allows it to be handed down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
